Leostream has been named a Major Player in two 2026 IDC MarketScape assessments covering Desktops-as-a-Service and virtual client computing, adding independent industry recognition for the company’s remote desktop access and digital workspace technology.
The Boston-based company was included in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Desktops-as-a-Service 2026 Vendor Assessment and the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Virtual Client Computing 2026 Vendor Assessment, both recently published by the firm.
IDC’s Enterprise Client Computing Platforms research examines technologies used to deliver and manage digital workspaces for enterprise users. The research covers DaaS and virtual client computing platforms, as well as traditional virtual desktop infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, Cloud PCs, application delivery and streaming, and intelligent digital workspace technologies.
Leostream provides a Remote Desktop Access Platform designed to manage user connections to hosted desktops, workstations and other computing resources across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments. The platform is intended to give organizations flexibility in selecting infrastructure providers, endpoint devices, hardware and display protocols rather than requiring customers to adopt a single technology stack. It also includes authentication, authorization and connection-management capabilities designed around zero-trust security principles.
According to Leostream, its gateway technology can provide users with access only to resources for which they have been authorized, reducing the need for traditional VPN-based remote access in some environments. The company’s platform supports organizations operating complex or performance-sensitive workloads, including customers in energy, scientific computing, media and entertainment, financial services, government and defense.
“The IDC MarketScape delivers comprehensive product and vendor research that IT buyers need to determine the capabilities that best suit their requirements,” said Leostream CEO Karen Gondoly. “After more than 20 years of deployments, it’s gratifying to be called a Major Player in DaaS and VCC, and we hope those who are adopting modern digital workspaces will benefit from IDC MarketScape’s assessment of Leostream.”
IDC MarketScape assessments evaluate technology and service providers using qualitative and quantitative criteria related to their capabilities, strategies and market position. The reports are intended to help technology buyers compare vendors and evaluate their relative strengths and weaknesses.
Leostream has more than 20 years of experience developing technologies for hosted desktop environments, including VDI, hybrid cloud deployments and high-performance remote display environments. In addition to its Remote Desktop Access Platform, the company offers a Privileged Remote Access service designed to manage temporary access to corporate resources for vendors, service providers and contractors.
