Intuit has expanded its mid-market financial technology portfolio with new conversational AI and automation capabilities designed to help CFOs and accounting teams reduce manual work and access financial insights more quickly.

The updates span Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced and include a new conversational interface called Intuit Intelligence Chat.

Finance leaders can use the system to ask questions about business performance, identify anomalies, run reports and initiate workflows using natural language.

Conversational AI Moves Into Financial Operations

Intuit Intelligence Chat uses customer business data to provide personalized responses and recommendations.

Instead of waiting for a manually prepared dashboard, users can query information across entities and projects directly from the financial platform.

The system can also suggest subsequent actions. Intuit says users must confirm actions before they are executed, providing an additional layer of control for financial workflows.

The company is positioning the capability as part of a broader intelligence layer spanning its products rather than a standalone AI assistant.

Automating More of the Accounting Cycle

Intuit is also expanding automation behind the conversational interface.

New multi-entity accounting capabilities in Intuit Enterprise Suite use recurring templates and account mappings to handle repeatable intercompany accounting work.

An AI model trained using a customer’s historical entries can prepare additional entries that are then presented for review and approval.

QuickBooks Online Advanced is adding Books Upkeep, which continuously processes bookkeeping work throughout the month.

High-confidence transactions can be handled automatically according to customer-defined rules, while exceptions are presented to users for decisions.

The approach is designed to reduce the amount of accounting work that accumulates at month-end.

QuickBooks Online Advanced Consolidates Finance Tools

QuickBooks Online Advanced is also incorporating bill pay, payments, business intelligence and AI-assisted bookkeeping within the platform.

New reporting capabilities include KPI scorecards for metrics such as revenue, margins and cash, along with conversational forecasting that allows finance teams to query variances and run scenarios using natural language.

Intuit said 83% of surveyed QuickBooks Online Advanced customers reported that the platform provides the data they need to make better decisions.

Enterprise Suite Adds Scale and Industry Workflows

Intuit Enterprise Suite is receiving additional capabilities for companies with more complex operations.

Multi-currency functionality in beta uses a permission-controlled exchange-rate table and automatically calculates realized and unrealized gains and losses.

Intuit is also expanding dimensional reporting and adding industry-specific capabilities for construction, manufacturing and nonprofit organizations.

Construction features include project profitability tracking and controls for multi-entity project operations. Manufacturing capabilities include multilevel bills of materials, while nonprofit organizations receive expanded reporting across programs, grants and funds.

Together, the changes show Intuit moving AI beyond isolated productivity features and deeper into the financial workflows that mid-market businesses use to operate.
